Where it was.

The Mcnerny Family Reunion in 2002 was held at Pichi Richi Park situated just outsite of Port Augusta the atmosphere was incredible and the company was great.   As expected a great weekend was had by all. The trains chugging by a couple of times a day were a treat for young and old alike. The Campfire also was a favorite spot I think everyone had a stint up there at one time or another. It was great to see so many family members there enjoying the festivities, including some that couldn't  make it to the last one at Gladstone .

Who was there

Just like the last Family reunion it was a social event. The kids had a great time playing games and getting to know each other. Ella & Adam voted themselves the best looking family members, but Courtland, Tyler and Thomas  get my vote. As before there was a great turnout, with family from Adelaide, Whyalla, Pt Augusta and Broken Hill. The sisters all had a great time and enjoyed seeing each other again.

What we did

 Mcnerney cricket trophy

Games have traditionally been a family activity since before TV and  we played many. We played Charades on the Friday night, which was a lot of fun and some family members were very imaginative in their guesses. Jenga was a big hit with most family members. The Games were quite eventful this year as always. The Rollster led us in a great trivia game that got the old gray matter working. Everyone seemed to enjoy the Cricket game as well, even the freezing conditions couldn't dampen the enthusiasm of the players or the spectators, but the rain sent everybody running for cover. The Broken Hill side of the family finally took home the cup, when play resumed the next day in a fabulous finish. This year there was a little twist though the naca award came into play. And although the Broken Hill side won the match Bob also won the naca trophy But it was young Tyler who stole the show and amazed everyone with his catching style. He won  Man of the match with ease.  I wouldn't be surprised  if I were to see him playing for Australia within 10 years.

"Rock on Tyler ."

The sisters enjoy each others company at the 2002 Reunion.

The Pichi Richi Reunion was a great success and I think everyone that was there had a good time. I am so looking forward to the next one. It promises to be another great weekend, so please don't miss it.
