Where it was.

The Mcnerny Family Reunion in 1999 was the first one we held , it was at the Gladstone Gaol . It was a big success and a promise of things to come, I'm sure everyone had a great time

Where we stayed The Gaol was a great place to stay, "a bit creepy at night" but that just added to the atmosphere of the whole weekend. I personally never saw any real ghosts but there was plenty of spirits to be had Bourbon, Scotch, Ouzo just to name a few. If you missed it never fear there will be many more.

Who was there.

There were plenty of family members who enjoyed the family reunion held at Gladstone Gaol in 1999.

Socializing was the main event and meal times were a great time to get together. The food was great, the company was better. Everyone was seen to enjoy each others company no matter what generation they belonged to.

What we did

Everyone got into the spirit of it with a game of Celebrity heads. Although it was a lot of fun celebrity head was just one of the many fun games played at Gladstone during the 1999 reunion. Among the others we had a talent night and we all learned there was some exceptional talent among the family members. The kids really enjoyed the Easter egg hunt. While the older people had an egg game of their own, and many people got covered in raw eggs trying to catch them. But by far the highlight of the weekends games was the Cricket match where the Whyalla crowd excelled and took home the trophy. I think the cricket will be a big part of future family reunions. In my mind man of the match was definitely Steve because he gave me the most laughs. ("Thanks Steve") But Suzie from Adelaide also put in a memorable game. Someone had a bit of a fall during the game but for the life of me I can't remember who it was but I bet she still remembers. The Blonde moment award goes to well I'm not going to put her name on the internet either, but I'm sure she too knows who she is. She earned the title when Bob offered to take a photo from the roof of the 4 sisters with all the families that were present. And a certain cousin from Whyalla took the blonde moment award, and gave everyone a good laugh by saying."Don't be silly how are we gonna get the sisters up there!".

"Good on ya cus"
